Upplandsleden Stage 2 Kallhäll - Runsa 22 km
Following the banks of Lake Mälaren
The first kilometers of this stage go through a residential area but soon the trail turns into the forest. After about five kilometers you come to Ängsjö Friluftsgård, which is perfect for a lunch break. There are nice barbecue areas and if you do not bring your own lunch, there is a café.
After lunch, the trail follows the banks of Lake Mälaren all the way to Runsa. Sometimes the trail will take you inland, but this is almost always to give you a better view of Lake Mälaren. There are plenty of opportunities to cool off with a swim.
The last few kilometers are on paved roads and pass the huge fields of the old manor house in Runsa. If you have any energy left after this stage, a visit to the old Iron Age castle is recommended. The path to the castle starts from the parking lot in Runsa and in the same area you will also find a spectacular ship set from the same era.
There is a commuter train to Kallhäll and a bus from Runsa to Pendeltåget in Upplands Väsby.
