Upplandsleden Stage 5 Ängby - Lagga (Lunsen) 25 km

This stage starts in Ängby, but can also start in Knivsta. The first hour of the stage is on asphalt or gravel roads and then goes into the forests around Lunsen. This is a magical area with dense vegetation and no crossing roads. The sense of wilderness is palpable as you follow the winding path through dense spruce forest that has not been felled for many years. The tranquillity is almost overwhelming, and you wouldn't be surprised if a troll appeared from behind a rock.

After a couple of hours you reach the Lunsen cabin, which is open all year round and is perfect for a lunch break or even an overnight stay. The trail then continues through the forest to the northeast to end the stage with five kilometers on easy-to-walk roads with great views of the fields. You can even see the twin towers of Uppsala Cathedral in the distance. The stage ends in Lagga, a picturesque little village.

Take the train to Knivsta and the bus from Lagga to Uppsala.
