Upplandsleden Etapp 10 Gisslarändan - Vindskyddet norr om Gimo damm 17 km

The stage starts in Gisslarändan north of Lake Gisslaren where Upplandsleden crosses the road. There are good opportunities to park here and you enter the dense forest directly.

Sometimes the forest opens up and you pass the remains of old crofts. At Fäboda the trail splits. We chose the southern route, which is easy to walk on gravel roads all the way to Gimo. North of the lake Vattenstasjön there is a nice shelter to rest in.

The walk through Gimo is not so interesting. You pass Sandvik Coromant, which is a large industrial facility, and the old Gimo mansion, which has now been transformed into a large conference facility. You walk through the manor's large park before the trail continues into the forest again. The trail follows the large Gimo dam that previously supplied the mill with energy.

This part of the stage is easy to walk and there is a swimming area and plenty of nice resting places overlooking the pond. At the shelter north of the pond you can leave the trail and reach the main road after only a few kilometers.

This section of the trail is easy to walk and offers a mix of dense forest, civilization and historical landmarks.
