Outdoor Tech Chips Ultra are innovative wireless headphones for your ski helmet.

Outdoor tech has taken previous versions of its helmet-comparison headphones and made them completely wireless. Or headphones, for that matter. The chips, with their flat 40-millimeter speaker elements, are a sort of cross between headphones and speakers. And they have a great sound with heavy bass and crisp treble.

The chips fit all ski helmets that are prepared for audio systems. You simply charge them in the included case in about two hours and have enough power for a long day in the mountains. If you run out of power, the case contains a power bank for three more full charges. However, the case could be made slightly smaller and more flexible to better fit in the jacket pocket.

They connect to your phone via Bluetooth and since all the settings are built into the respective chips, you don't need to take out your phone for settings. In fact, you don't have to take off your gloves or even your mittens to easily control the most common functions by pressing on the outside of the earmuffs on the helmet.

For those of us who do not have music on while skiing but still want to be able to answer the phone without having to take off our gloves, this is also a working solution as there is a built-in microphone in the right chip. Since the chips for energy saving reasons have a function that disconnects after ten minutes of inactivity, the call will not be connected immediately. However, starting the chips and thus the connection to the phone is so fast that it still works well to answer. If you want to make a call, voice control of both Android and iPhone works perfectly well.

Should we have coffee or go for a walk?

Being a leader can be lonely. A cup of coffee, a walk and someone to talk to can be a start.
