We perform better outdoors

Anyone who exercises in nature knows that it feels easier to do so. Research now confirms that this is the case.

Peter Schantz, a professor at GIH, and his team of researchers have now been able to show that exercising outdoors makes you between 10 and 66 percent faster at the same effort.

The study looked at bicycle commuters and also examined the results of three similar studies. All of them clearly indicate that the perceived exertion is significantly lower when exercising in a beautiful natural environment than when exercising indoors on a treadmill or exercise bike.
