Roslagsleden stage 7 Penningby - Vigelsjö (Norrtälje) 22 km
Varied stage with beautiful nature, historical sites and visits to the capital of Roslagen.
The stage starts with a longer road walk. At Lännaby crossroads you can make a detour towards Kyrksjön where you will find Nils Ferlin's poet's cottage, the croft that was the author's residence in the village in the 1940s. The church and Prästgården are also interesting to see.
After Lännaby crossroads, you come to the beautifully located shelter at Fäglasjön where it is suitable for a coffee, but not a good place to swim as the lake is quite deep. If you have time and energy, we also recommend a detour to the ancient castle Borgberget with fantastic views of Kyrksjön.
Be prepared for some trickery to find the right way when the stage enters the capital of Roslagen, Norrtälje, which is otherwise a cozy summer town. The hike ends at Vigelsjö farm where you can also swim and have a bite to eat before the journey home begins.
