The Way is an inspiring story about the challenges we face as we navigate our changing world.

Martin Sheen plays Tom, a grumpy doctor who comes to France to bring home his dead son, played by Emilio Estevez, who is also the film's director. The son was killed by a storm while walking the world-famous Camino de Santiago through the Pyrenees. Instead of going home, Tom decides to walk the 80-mile trail himself to honor his son's memory.

Completely inexperienced as a hiker, Tom doesn't realize at first the profound impact of his decision, and although the idea was to do the hike alone, he soon has company along the way.

Made on location, the film has outstanding music throughout, well suited to both the action and the stunning natural scenes. It is like a diary with images and music where the journey is more important than the destination.

The Way is not for those who are looking for action, but rather a thoughtful, poetic and hopeful three-kilometer-per-hour pace. I'm sure I'm not alone in being inspired to pack my backpack and head out.

Should we have coffee or go for a walk?

Being a leader can be lonely. A cup of coffee, a walk and someone to talk to can be a start.
