The Edge

We're all put to the test... but it never comes in the form or at the point we would prefer, does it?

2015-11-12

Billionaire Charles Morse accompanies his much younger wife Mickey on a fashion shoot at a remote Alaskan lodge. The shoot is led by Bob Green. Charles, Bob, and Bob's assistant Stephen take a ride in a seaplane, but when the plane crashes into a remote lake far from their planned route, the group's only chance is to try to walk through the wilderness back to the lodge with no equipment or food.

The film was released in 1997 and stars Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin and Elle Macpherson.

The movie contains a mixture of total adventure and a rather sloppy adulterous affair, but the flaws are made up for by the always brilliant Anthony Hopkins and the utterly magical nature scenes.

The movie was not filmed in Alaska but in Canada's Banff and Yoho national parks.

Another important main character is Bart The Bear who plays a man-eating Kodiak bear and delivers some adrenaline-pumping thrills. However, for those who have traveled in these and other bear-rich areas, Bart plays over the top as these bears are normally shy pescetarians who take long detours to avoid us humans.

Should we have coffee or go for a walk?

Being a leader can be lonely. A cup of coffee, a walk and someone to talk to can be a start.
