Business for Nature

We who work with Business Basecamp see nature as a great source of inspiration and a place where we solve problems and develop ourselves and our clients.

It is therefore natural for us to do our best to protect nature. When we develop ourselves and our business, we make our decisions with respect for nature. We see nature improvement measures as investments.

1% for the planet

As members of the international organization 1% for the Planet, we invest at least 1% of our annual turnover in various projects that contribute to the benefit of nature.

Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies have built two successful businesses and realized early on that protecting the natural resources that kept them in business was good business. They therefore founded the organization 1% for the Planet in the US in 2002.

Today, the organization has grown into a global movement with more than 5700 member companies in 112 countries who all understand the value of protecting our nature.

Members can choose which projects they want to invest in. The organization provides knowledge about the projects that are ongoing or in the process of being set up.

Since its inception, the members of 1% for the planet have collectively invested more than €5.4 billion for the benefit of our nature and have collectively brought about major changes in several areas.

Our most recent investment went to Protect Our Winters Sweden, which brings together snow sports to reduce their climate impact and become a stronger voice in the public debate.

Tangaroa AB was the first Swedish consulting company to become a member of 1% for the planet in 2009 and has since then invested in projects run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Naturarvet, Naturskyddsföreningen and Protect Our Winters Sweden.

The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation has been Sweden's most influential environmental organization for decades, with climate, oceans, forests, agriculture and environmental toxins as its most important areas of work.

With Anders Zorn and Selma Lagerlöf as former members and good results year after year, it feels important to invest in their work.
